Music is my self-care. Improv is my life motto. Ever since starting learning keyboard at age of 8, I always tried to come up with original music to impress my teacher. Under the stage light, looking at my audience's fascinated faces, little me knew that if I don't create my own music, I become a passive listener of other people's music.

Growing up in an Asian single-parent household and as a cross-cultural nomad, I picked up music inspirations from the upheavals at home, mama’s teary eyes, the beachside breeze in Shenzhen, the carefree drive to Santa Monica, the overdue emotions from unresolved relationships, the rhymes and rhythms from Jay Chou, Mac Miller, Kota the Friend, 88 Rising… Here and there, I collected things along the way to put into my music. I sing and write in two languages, Mandarin and English. I like to mix things up, different languages and music genre. Things are better when they are non-binary.

To me, music is about storytelling. See the world through the lenses of my music; my keyboard is the camera, my chords are the frames, and my vocals are the narratives. Welcome to my world.
